The Friends of the Destin Library and the Destin Garden Club will jointly sponsor a presentation on Tuesday, November 10th, 2009, beginning at 9:30 am featuring two regionally recognized story-tellers: Brenda Rees and Norma Hubbard. The meeting is open to the general public.
Brenda Rees is a Walton County native and a sixth generation Floridian. Her portrayal of Madame Octavia Walton Le Vert, daughter of Walton County namesake George Walton, Jr., and her life and influence in the state was first introduced at the 2008 Florida Chautauqua. Brenda Rees holds degrees from Sam Houston University and Texas A & M University.
Norma Hubbard was born, reared and educated in New Orleans. Since 1967 she has been living in Panama City, Florida. Ms. Hubbard is a southern writer who also performs a one-woman act. Her performance, on November 10th, is entitled “The Life of Osceola”.
