The Destin Library has been chosen to take part in a trial program of a small portable magnifier for patrons with low vision. The product is manufactured by Bierley Corporation of Britain (www.bierley.com) with offices in the United States in San Jose, California. E-mail questions about the product can be submitted to: ussales@bierley.com.
The MonoMouse works by plugging the devise into your television and scrolling it over the text you wish to read. The stylish device is specifically designed to allow people who have sight difficulties to read any book in the library.
The Destin Library will have two MonoMouse units available for check-out. The units are located at the circulation desk and can be checked out for 2 weeks. Due to the cost of the product late fees for returns will be $1.00 per day.
Patrons interested in learning more about this new technology are encouraged to ask for a demonstration at the library.
For further details please contact the library at 837.8572.
